币界网报道:Kraken has obtained a Virtual Asset Service Provider (VASP) registration in Ireland, allowing the cryptocurrency exchange to operate across the European Union under the upcoming Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) regulation. The registration, granted by Ireland's central bank, positions Kraken as one of the first major global exchanges to secure EU-wide compliance ahead of MiCA's full implementation in December 2024. This license enables Kraken to offer spot trading and wallet services to European customers while meeting strict anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism financing requirements. The company plans to use Ireland as its EU regulatory hub, joining competitors like Coinbase and Gemini who have also established regional bases in Dublin. Kraken's Chief Legal Officer Marco Santori emphasized the importance of regulatory clarity for fostering innovation in the crypto sector. The MiCA framework, set to become the first comprehensive crypto regulation in a major jurisdiction, will standardize rules across the EU's 27 member states when fully enacted next year.
