币界网报道:Kraken has obtained a Virtual Asset Service Provider (VASP) license from Ireland's central bank, allowing the cryptocurrency exchange to offer services across the European Union under the upcoming Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) regulations. The license enables Kraken to provide exchange and wallet services for customers in all 27 EU member states when MiCA takes full effect in December 2024. This marks Kraken's second EU regulatory approval after registering as a VASP with the Bank of Spain earlier this year. The exchange plans to expand its EU presence, with Ireland serving as its MiCA hub. Kraken's global head of regulatory strategy emphasized the importance of regulatory clarity for crypto adoption, stating the license demonstrates their commitment to compliance while continuing to innovate. The approval comes as EU regulators prepare to implement MiCA, which will establish a unified framework for crypto asset markets across the bloc.
