币界网报道:Kraken has obtained a Virtual Asset Service Provider (VASP) license from Ireland's central bank, allowing the cryptocurrency exchange to offer services across the European Economic Area (EEA) under the EU's Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) regulation. The license enables Kraken to provide crypto trading, custody, and staking services to EEA clients through its Irish entity, Kraken Digital Assets Europe. This marks a significant step in Kraken's European expansion strategy, as Ireland's regulatory approval grants passporting rights to operate in all 27 EU member states plus Iceland, Liechtenstein, and Norway. The MiCA-compliant license comes ahead of the regulation's full implementation in December 2024, positioning Kraken among the first major exchanges to secure EU-wide authorization. The company emphasized its commitment to regulatory compliance and plans to continue working with European regulators to shape the evolving crypto framework. Ireland has emerged as a key hub for crypto firms seeking EU access, with other major exchanges like Coinbase also establishing operations in the country.
