币界网报道:Metaplanet, a Tokyo-listed company, has raised 74.9 billion JPY ($515 million) to expand its bitcoin holdings as part of its ambitious "555 Million Plan," which targets acquiring 1% of Bitcoin's total supply. According to a Wednesday filing, EVO Fund, Metaplanet's primary backer, exercised 540,000 stock-acquisition rights, converting them into 54 million new shares—covering 29% of the company’s 20th warrant series. The firm aims to issue 555 million shares (92% of outstanding shares) to raise $5.4 billion for further BTC purchases, with a goal of accumulating 30,000 BTC by 2025 and 100,000 by 2026. Currently holding 11,111 BTC after a recent 1,111 BTC purchase, Metaplanet seeks to join the exclusive "1% BTC club," currently only occupied by MicroStrategy. Shares fell 5% post-announcement. The firm also plans a $5 billion injection into its U.S. subsidiary for global expansion.
