"No one would rashly put their transactions on a blockchain—every step is recorded and transparent to everyone. But we want to start this experiment," Aquino said in a statement at the Manila Tech Summit on Wednesday. "If this goes ahead, I think we will be the first country to put the national budget on a blockchain," he said, adding that he was unsure of the level of support he would receive.
