Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission: Beware of phishing email attacks sent by criminals impersonating SFC executives

最新报道：According to Bijie.com, on August 22, the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) warned the public to be vigilant against fraudulent activities using the SFC's name. The agency has discovered that scammers are impersonating senior SFC executives and prominent stock commentators, using phishing emails and forged documents to reach the public. These include scammers impersonating Mr. Christopher Wilson, Executive Director of the Regulatory Enforcement Department, in a fraudulent email attempt to install malware or ransomware on the computers of responding recipients. Another scam impersonated Mr. Wen Zhiyao, Chief Financial Officer of the SFC, in a phishing email purportedly titled "data verification program" and attempting to obtain contact information from recipients. The targets included SFC-licensed corporations and their employees. The SFC emphasized that all of these messages and claims are false and urged the public to remain vigilant when handling unsolicited communications.
