最新报道:According to Coinnet, Wells Fargo has significantly expanded its exposure to BlackRock's Bitcoin ETF (IBIT), increasing its holdings more than fourfold in the second quarter of 2025. Meanwhile, Abu Dhabi's sovereign wealth fund maintains the world's largest institutional Bitcoin ETF position. Wells Fargo's $160 million bet marks its aggressive entry into the Bitcoin ETF space. According to a new SEC filing, the fourth-largest US bank by assets disclosed holdings of over $160 million worth of iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) shares as of June 30. This represents a significant increase from just over $26 million at the end of the first quarter. Wells Fargo and Bank of America's (BofA) Merrill Lynch unit began offering spot Bitcoin ETFs to brokerage clients of their wealth management divisions in February 2024. Notably, this came just one month after the financial instrument received approval in the United States. These banks offer approved ETFs to some wealth management clients who have brokerage accounts and request these products. Thus, Wells Fargo's second-quarter filing suggests that the bank has moved beyond simply opening its doors to meet client demand. It is now taking direct institutional allocations on its own books. Diversifying Across Multiple Bitcoin Funds Meanwhile, Wells Fargo's Bitcoin exposure has expanded beyond BlackRock's flagship IBIT product. The bank also increased its stake in the Invesco Galaxy Bitcoin ETF (BTCO) from $2.5 million to approximately $26 million during the same quarter. Its holdings in the Grayscale Bitcoin Mini Trust (BTC) saw a slight increase, from approximately $23,000 to $31,500. Meanwhile, its position in the Grayscale Bitcoin Trust (GBTC) grew from $146,000 to over $192,000. Wells Fargo also reported smaller positions in Bitcoin ETFs managed by Cathie Wood's ARK Invest/21Shares, Bitwise, CoinShares/Valkyrie, Fidelity, and VanEck. The bank also diversified its holdings with spot Ethereum ETFs. These moves indicate a growing exposure to cryptocurrency-related investments. They reflect institutional interest in Bitcoin as an asset class and the growing acceptance of ETFs as a preferred access point. Abu Dhabi Holds $681 Million in Bitcoin ETFs Elsewhere, Abu Dhabi's sovereign wealth fund remains steadfast in its significant Bitcoin ETF position. SEC filings show that Mubadala, one of the world's largest state-owned investment companies, held 8.7 million shares of IBIT, valued at $534 million, as of June 30. Al Warda Investments, managed by the Abu Dhabi Investment Council, reported holding 2.4 million IBIT shares worth $147 million during the same period. These holdings, totaling $681 million, remain unchanged since May. The latest disclosures highlight the growing range of major institutional players, from US banking giants to Middle Eastern sovereign wealth funds, taking calculated action on Bitcoin ETFs. Wells Fargo's heavy accumulation in the second quarter stands out, suggesting a bet on price increases, strategic hedging, or a reflection of growing client demand. Meanwhile, Abu Dhabi's unwavering stance demonstrates a long-term, conviction-driven approach to Bitcoin, which is increasingly viewed as a strategic asset on the global stage.
