币界网报道：According to the news on July 1, Bitcoin Layer2 network Botanix mainnet was officially launched, reducing the time required to add new blocks from 10 minutes to 5 seconds. The project is compatible with the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM), allowing developers to directly transplant Ethereum ecosystem applications to the Bitcoin network. The mainnet is jointly operated by a decentralized alliance of 16 node operators, including Galaxy Digital and Fireblocks, and the number of nodes is expected to exceed 100 in 2026. Also launched simultaneously are Bitcoin DeFi ecosystem basic products, including BTC-collateralized stablecoin Palladium and decentralized exchange Bitzy. Botanix Labs CEO said that the network strictly follows Bitcoin's self-custody and open participation principles, aiming to build a fully decentralized Bitcoin financial system (BTCFi). Current similar expansion projects also include solutions such as Rootstock and Stacks that use the BitVM computing paradigm.
