最新报道:Bitcoin infrastructure startup Bitlayer announced Wednesday that it has raised $5 million through three oversubscribed token sales rounds. According to a statement, Bitlayer raised funds from thousands of investors across crowdfunding platforms such as CoinList and Echo. "Extreme demand led to a complete sell-out of the limited-time CoinList sale, attracting over 6,300 verified investors and exceeding the 50% subscription target," the team wrote in the statement. Notably, the sale of the native BTR token on CoinList garnered over $4 million in pledges, while the community offering on Holdstation closed in 28 seconds. Bitlayer bills itself as "the first US-accessible token offering for a Bitcoin project," a move reminiscent of the era of initial coin offerings (ICOs). Founded in October 2023, Bitlayer Labs is building a Bitcoin Layer 2 network based on the Bitcoin Virtual Machine (BitVM) system, designed to expand application programmability while leveraging Bitcoin's security. Bitlayer launched its Mainnet V1 in early 2024 and its "trust-minimized" BitVM Bridge in July of this year. The new funds will be used to scale Bitlayer's operations, grow its team, and build its ecosystem. Co-founder Charlie Hu stated that the project has already released integrations with blockchains such as Arbitrum, Base, Cardano, and Sui. The team hopes to release its Mainnet V2 later this year. Bitlayer previously completed a $5 million seed round in March 2024 and a $20 million Series A round led by Framework Ventures and ABCDE Capital. This latest round brings its total funding raised in private and public offerings to $29.91 million.
