币界网报道:Kraken has unveiled its new mobile payment app "Krak" in over 110 countries, enabling users to send and receive money globally without traditional banking intermediaries. The app allows instant crypto-to-fiat conversions and supports 20 fiat currencies alongside major cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and Ethereum. Kraken CEO David Ripley stated the app represents "a major step toward frictionless cross-border payments" by combining crypto's efficiency with traditional finance accessibility. Notably, Krak doesn't require users to have a Kraken exchange account, though exchange customers get enhanced features. The launch comes as Kraken expands beyond its core exchange business, following its recent acquisition of Dutch crypto broker BCM. The app currently offers free transactions for the first month, with fees capped at 0.9% thereafter. Kraken plans to add more cryptocurrencies and features like merchant payments in future updates.
