CEO Aravind Srinivas confirmed the acquisition, noting the team will work on new consumer product experiences for Perplexity and Comet users. Visual Electric will shut down in 90 days, allowing data exports and prorated refunds for subscribers. Founded in 2022 by former Facebook, Apple, and Microsoft employees, the tool enabled AI image creation and editing on an infinite canvas for designers, later adding video generation, with $2.5 million raised from Sequoia, BoxGroup, and Designer Fund.
