The lawsuit alleges EWS and partner banks knowingly allowed fraud to spread through Zelle's unverified registration system while failing to implement anti-fraud measures. James seeks restitution for victims and court-ordered security upgrades, stating "No one should be left to fend for themselves after falling victim to a scam." This follows a similar CFPB lawsuit against EWS and major banks that was dismissed in March.
