最新报道:New York Attorney General Letitia James has sued Early Warning Services (EWS), operator of Zelle payments network, accusing it of enabling over $1 billion in fraud between 2017-2023 by designing the platform without critical security features. The lawsuit alleges EWS and partner banks knowingly allowed fraud to spread through Zelle's unverified registration system while failing to implement anti-fraud measures. James seeks restitution for victims and court-ordered security upgrades, stating "No one should be left to fend for themselves after falling victim to a scam." This follows a similar CFPB lawsuit against EWS and major banks that was dismissed in March.
