币界网报道:Onchain investigator ZachXBT revealed that New York-based scammer Christian "Daytwo" Nieves, alias "PawsOnHips," allegedly stole over $4 million from Coinbase users through social engineering attacks. Nieves reportedly operated a call center posing as Coinbase support to redirect victims to phishing sites, then flaunted the stolen funds on social media while gambling most of it away on Roobet casino and converting Bitcoin to Monero. ZachXBT traced over 30 thefts to Nieves' Roobet address, including a $240,000 scam against an elderly victim in November 2024. Nieves allegedly spent part of the funds on luxury items like a Corvette and Rolex, and mocked ZachXBT's investigation with a middle-finger photo. Transaction records indicate heavy gambling losses, leading Nieves to reportedly withhold payments from accomplices. ZachXBT noted the case should be straightforward for law enforcement, though asset recovery is unlikely due to the squandered funds. This follows Coinbase's recent disclosure of a data leak involving outsourced agents affecting 69,000 users, potentially costing the exchange up to $400 million in reimbursements.
