The project aims to address scalability issues in Ethereum by optimizing execution and consensus layers while maintaining full EVM bytecode compatibility. Monad uses parallel execution and a pipelined consensus mechanism to achieve high throughput without sacrificing decentralization. The team, which includes former Jump Trading developers, has raised $19 million in funding led by Dragonfly Capital. Monad's testnet is expected to launch in the coming months, with mainnet deployment planned for later in 2024.
