AWS Outage and IRS Mega API Spark Debate on Decentralized Data Security
-
最新报道：AWS experienced a major outage on June 25, disrupting services like the IRS's new "Mega API" for tax professionals, sparking renewed debate about centralized cloud vulnerabilities. The 5-hour AWS us-east-1 region failure impacted multiple government agencies and businesses, highlighting systemic risks of reliance on single providers. Blockchain advocates pointed to decentralized alternatives like Filecoin and Arweave as more resilient solutions for critical data infrastructure. IRS officials confirmed the outage delayed tax filings but emphasized no data was compromised. The incident comes as U.S. regulators increase scrutiny of cloud concentration risks, with SEC Chair Gary Gensler recently warning about financial system's over-dependence on AWS, Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud.
