New York court grants bail to two Bitcoin kidnapping suspects

最新报道：According to the Coinnet report, two suspects, John Woeltz and William Duplessie, who were accused of kidnapping and torturing Bitcoin traders to obtain their keys, have been granted bail by a New York court. The two were charged with 12 counts, both pleaded not guilty, and were released on a $1 million bond each and will be subject to electronic monitoring and required to surrender their passports. The suspect Woeltz, known as the "King of Crypto in Kentucky," was accused of kidnapping an Italian crypto trader in Woeltz's Soho mansion and torturing him, including threatening him with a gun, attacking him with a stun gun and a chainsaw, and pouring wine on him and setting him on fire. The two also allegedly threatened to kill the victim's family. Although prosecutors said there was evidence that the two had engaged in similar behavior, Judge Gregory Carro believed there were many credibility issues and decided to grant bail while continuing to review the evidence.
