最新报道:According to the news from the Coinnet, Block Inc, a technology company that operates multiple digital asset ecosystem business units, will be included in the S&P 500 index effective Wednesday, July 23. After the news was confirmed late Friday, the stock rose 10% in after-hours trading. "This is a milestone that reflects the strength of our business and the efforts of thousands of people to build tools to increase economic access, which is reflected in our brands, including Square, Cash App, Afterpay, TIDAL, Proto and Bitkey," the company said in a statement. "Thank you to our customers, team and shareholders for walking with us all the way. We are just getting started." Block (stock code XYZ) was originally founded in 2009 as Square, initially focusing on providing financial services and mobile payment solutions. In December 2021, the company changed its name to Block Inc., reflecting its growing interest and involvement in blockchain technology and digital assets. Block's Bitkey division is a simple self-hosted wallet built for Bitcoin, while Proto is a set of Bitcoin mining products and services. Block’s inclusion in the S&P 500 comes about two months after Coinbase became the first pure-play cryptocurrency company to join the benchmark. Block will replace Hess, which was dropped from the index due to its acquisition by Chevron. Last summer, Block began investing 10% of its Bitcoin profits in BTC each month and open-sourced its treasury blueprint so that others could follow suit. According to BitcoinTreasuries.net, the company owns 8,584 BTC, worth about $1 billion at current prices.
