How Jack Dorsey’s new app lets you chat without the internet and why it matters
-
最新报道：Jack Dorsey's decentralized social media platform Bluesky has launched a new feature enabling offline messaging via Bluetooth, bypassing traditional internet connectivity. The "offline mode" allows users to exchange encrypted messages within a 300-foot range without cellular data or Wi-Fi, addressing censorship concerns in regions with internet restrictions. Built on the open-source AT Protocol, Bluesky emphasizes user control over data and algorithms. While similar to peer-to-peer apps like Briar, Bluesky's integration with its existing decentralized network sets it apart. The feature highlights Dorsey's continued push for decentralized communication tools following his departure from Twitter.
