币界网报道:Crypto exchange Kraken has launched Krak, a global payments app supporting both fiat and cryptocurrencies, positioning itself as a competitor to Venmo, PayPal, and Cash App. The app enables free local and international transactions across 160+ countries, while offering up to 4.1% rewards for holding Paxos-issued stablecoin USDG and up to 10% staking yields on other digital assets. Krak integrates crypto-native features like asset-backed credit lines, physical/virtual payment cards, and "Kraktags"—a human-readable addressing system akin to ENS domains—to simplify blockchain transactions. Kraken co-CEO Arjun Sethi emphasized the app's permissionless infrastructure, citing faster settlements, lower fees, and user-controlled assets. Revenue will primarily come from exchange fees across 300+ supported currencies. The launch follows Kraken's expansion into tokenized stocks and its $1.5B acquisition of NinjaTrader, signaling a broader multi-asset strategy ahead of its planned IPO.
