Judge Torres Says No – What’s Next for the Ripple XRP Lawsuit
-
最新报道：A U.S. judge has denied Ripple’s request to file a sur-reply in its ongoing legal battle with the SEC over XRP’s regulatory status. Judge Analisa Torres ruled that Ripple failed to justify why its additional arguments couldn’t have been included in earlier filings. The SEC had opposed Ripple’s motion, arguing the company was attempting to improperly introduce new evidence. This latest development comes as both sides await a final ruling on whether Ripple’s institutional sales of XRP violated securities laws. The case, which began in December 2020, has seen multiple twists including a partial victory for Ripple last year when Judge Torres ruled that programmatic sales of XRP didn’t constitute securities offerings. Legal experts suggest the denial of Ripple’s motion indicates the court may be moving toward concluding this landmark crypto case.
