The probe follows ASIC and the Reserve Bank of Australia’s concerns over ASX’s operational stability, exacerbated by the 2022 cancellation of its blockchain-based CHESS settlement system upgrade, which led to regulatory scrutiny and a lawsuit over misleading statements. The panel will assess ASX’s daily A$6 billion trading operations and recommend corrective measures.
