币界网报道:According to Livecoins, Brazilian Congressman Eros Biondini submitted an amendment to delete the fifth chapter of the interim measure No. 1303/2025 on taxation of cryptocurrencies and repeal the provisions of Law No. 14754/2023 on capital gains tax on cryptocurrencies. Biondini pointed out that the government's increase in the tax rate of the financial transaction tax (IOF) through Decree No. 12499/2025 has exceeded the original intention of tax regulation. It is expected that an additional 20.5 billion to 41 billion reais will be levied from 2025 to 2026, which will increase the burden on small and micro enterprises and self-employed individuals. He called on the crypto community to put pressure on Congress on social media, saying that "Brazil could have led the trend, but it went against the trend and punished people who sought to store value." Earlier on June 14, Brazil proposed to impose a unified tax rate of 17.5% on cryptocurrency profits.
