Square Launches First Bitcoin Payments at US Coffee Chain

最新报道：According to a news report from Bijie.com on October 16th, this week, a Washington, D.C. coffee shop became the first merchant in the world to accept Bitcoin payments through a Square point-of-sale terminal. Compass Coffee, a popular chain with 27 locations in the area, showcased the new technology during DC Fintech Week, allowing customers to pay for their coffee using Bitcoin via the Lightning Network through a standard Square cash register. This pilot marks the first live deployment of the new Bitcoin payment system announced by Square's parent company, Blockchain, last Wednesday. Starting November 10th, merchants will be able to accept Bitcoin payments and convert up to 50% of their daily sales into Bitcoin, with zero fees for the first year.
