最新报道:According to Bijie.com, Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino recently stated that central bank digital currencies (CBDCs) could turn "money" into a tool for government surveillance. Tether is the issuer of USDT, the world's most valuable stablecoin. At the TOKEN2049 conference in Singapore, Ardoino pointed out that governments view CBDCs as a progressive financial innovation, but in reality, they could be used to control consumers rather than achieve so-called "financial inclusion." CBDCs are digital forms of a country's legal tender, issued and controlled by its central bank. Unlike decentralized cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, CBDCs are fully centralized, and transactions are fully traceable. Ardoino also mentioned that when he first heard about blockchain and Bitcoin, he felt "it was like inventing nuclear weapons—a powerful technology, but one that could be disastrous if misused." He warned that CBDCs could give government agencies complete oversight over digital currency transfers.
