Its local entity, Gemini Intergalactic Australia Pty Ltd, has been registered with AUSTRAC, Australia's anti-money laundering regulator. Gemini also appointed James Logan, former General Manager of Luno Australia, as its new Head of Australia, responsible for local strategy and partnerships. This move comes as the Australian government plans to bring crypto exchanges under the Corporations Act. Gemini announced that it is applying for a Financial Services License (AFSL) from ASIC to expand its derivatives business.
