最新报道:According to Bijie.com and ME News, on September 27 (UTC+8), scientists from Stanford and the Arc Institute used AI "genomic language models" called Evo 1 and Evo 2 to design and synthesize 302 viral genomes from scratch. Sixteen of these successfully survived in the laboratory, capable of infecting E. coli and exhibiting the ability to replicate and evolve. Some of the synthesized phages even outperformed their natural prototype, the ΦX174 virus. The researchers stated that this achievement could lead to breakthroughs in customized phage therapy and become a major milestone in synthetic biology. However, it also sparked discussion about the potential risks and governance of generative biology.
