Public warned to be ‘on guard’ for unlawful robocalls

Home Improvement Marketing Ltd was fined £300,000 for 2.4 million automated calls, while Green Spark Energy Ltd received a £250,000 penalty for 9.5 million calls targeting vulnerable groups including cancer patients. The ICO warned the public to watch for robocall signs like delayed responses and repetitive answers, noting such technology makes it harder to detect automated marketing calls which require prior consent under UK law.
