最新报道:According to a September 24 report from the New York Times, two Democratic U.S. senators have asked the inspectors general of the Commerce and State departments to investigate whether Trump administration officials violated ethics regulations in two multi-billion dollar transactions involving the United Arab Emirates. One of the transactions involved a U.S. plan to allow the UAE to import American-made AI chips. The other involved a company backed by the UAE government remitting $2 billion to a cryptocurrency company founded by the Trump family and the family of one of their advisors, Steve Witkoff. Witkoff officially served as a State Department employee for the first six months of this year before transferring to the White House. In a letter to the acting inspectors general and the Office of Government Ethics for the U.S. Departments of State and Commerce, Democratic Senators Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts and Elissa Slotkin of Michigan wrote: "The pattern of these transactions is extremely concerning."
