On-chain ransom negotiations show ShibaSwap hackers won’t accept low ransoms

最新报道：According to a report from CoinWorld, $2.8 million worth of crypto tokens (primarily dog-themed) were stolen from ShibaSwap last Friday. Among the stolen assets were approximately 250 billion KNINE tokens from the liquidity staking protocol K9 Finance. K9 seeks to redeem these tokens and is willing to pay a bounty to the hacker. Last Monday, an address labeled "k9dev.eth" contacted the hacker on-chain, "Dear Shibarium Bridge Hacker," offering a 5 ETH "bounty in exchange for the stolen KNINE tokens." The K9 team likely acted out of a desire to prevent the hacker from dumping such a large amount of KNINE tokens, which would likely cause the price to plummet to near zero. The message also included a bounty contract address to facilitate the transaction and a warning that "the bounty will begin to decrease in seven days," exerting pressure. However, the hacker refused to accept such a low offer, responding, "I cannot accept 5 ETH." The hacker, in turn, demanded a ransom of at least 50 ETH (approximately $225,000), adding, "Please let me know when you are willing to pay that price."
