最新报道:According to Bijie.com, Citibank analyst Jin-Wook Kim stated that South Korea's pledged $350 billion in investments in the United States could put pressure on the won. Due to the lessons learned from the 1997-1998 financial crisis, South Korea is unlikely to use its $416 billion in foreign exchange reserves. Consequently, public institutions may need to raise $20 billion to $30 billion in foreign currency annually. Financing the remaining $86 billion to $96 billion will likely require the bond market. Large-scale bond issuance could drive up financing costs and put pressure on the won. Even if private enterprises share some of the financing burden, the reduced conversion of US dollar export revenue into won due to US investment could still pose a risk of devaluation. Citigroup predicts that South Korea will demand solutions from the US for potential foreign exchange shocks and seek an extension of the investment commitment.
