Launched in late 2024 and regulated by New York’s DFS, RLUSD has grown to over $700 million in supply on Ethereum and XRP Ledger. The token supports treasury operations, remittances, and collateral for tokenized assets. Separately, Mercy Corps Ventures is testing RLUSD in Kenya for climate risk insurance, using automated payouts based on satellite data for drought and extreme weather events.
