NEAR Protocol (NEAR) and Aptos (APT) are joining forces, including the decentralized hot storage platform Shelby. The blockchain platforms aim to build an ecosystem that benefits from accelerated cross-chain transfers and programmable storage. Developed jointly by Aptos Labs and Jump Crypto, Shelby provides a cloud-scale hot storage protocol with sub-second reads and programmable logic. Aptos, one of the world’s largest stablecoin user bases, will now be able to leverage NEAR Intents, enabling seamless cross-chain liquidity,” NEAR Protocol wrote in a blog post. As such, the collaboration between NEAR, Aptos, and Shelby aims to enable one-click cross-chain swaps via NEAR Intents and provide fast, decentralized data to agents via Shelby's hot storage solution. In terms of the former, this means that NEAR and Aptos will allow users across the industry to swap assets like Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), XRP (XRP), and over 20 other blockchains directly for APT and Tether (USDT) on Aptos. Aptos developers can access this new environment through the 1-Click Swap API, which allows builders to directly integrate NEAR Intents into their projects. Notably, this integration means users don't need to learn about wallets, use bridges, or worry about specific network details.
