最新报道:According to a report by Bijie.com, more than seven years ago, numerous crypto exchanges, including Bitfinex and leading Canadian exchange QuadrigaCX, began experiencing serious funding problems. Crypto exchanges were suddenly choked by their ultimate payment processor, the Panamanian shadow bank Crypto Capital Corp., and no one at the bank answered their phones. As hours turned to days, weeks, and months, it became clear that Crypto Capital Corp's staff had decided to shut down and quietly abscond with over $88 million. Soon after, the list of individuals implicated in the Crypto Capital Corp scandal was made public, revealing only four individuals: Reginald "Reggie" Fowler, Ivan Manuel Molina Lee, and siblings Ozzie and Ravid Yosef. Soon after, the Southern District of New York filed an indictment, and Fowler and Molina Lee were arrested shortly thereafter. Fowler pleaded guilty and was ordered to pay nearly $800 million in fines and restitution while serving 75 months in prison—although as of this month, he was still seeking a sentence reduction. Molina Lee, a dual Panamanian and Polish citizen, is currently being held in a Polish prison. However, Ozzy and Lavid Joseph remain unsolved cases. They have successfully escaped detention in the United States and Europe and remain at large to this day.
