最新报道:Wyoming Republican Cynthia Lummis has set her sights on passing a cryptocurrency market structure bill by the end of the year, but she noted a shift in strategy, with some senators adopting the House version as their "base bill." Lummis, a longtime cryptocurrency advocate, detailed her plans for the bill during a panel discussion at the Wyoming Blockchain Symposium on Wednesday. "We're going to have market structure on the president's desk by the end of the year," she said. "I'm hoping before Thanksgiving. So that's our goal." Senators Lummis, along with Bill Haggerty, Bernie Moreno, and Senate Banking Committee Chairman Tim Scott, previously released a larger discussion draft on cryptocurrency market structure and imposed a self-imposed September 30th deadline for the committee to complete some of its work. Separately, the House passed a market structure bill last month, the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act, which differs significantly from the Senate Banking Committee's version. Lummis described the Senate's procedural process as a mess on Wednesday. “We think we’re going to use the House’s Clarity Act as the base bill,” Loomis said. “We’re trying to use as many of the changes that the House wanted to make to the stablecoin bill as well as the changes that they proposed in the Clarity Act. We want to try to preserve as many of those changes as possible so that we can respect the work of the House.” Loomis also noted that the Clarity Act had bipartisan support — 78 Democrats voted in favor of the bill. A Senate aide told The Block that Senator Loomis believes the House did a good job on the Clarity Act and wants to preserve as much as possible, but noted that there will be some changes. “We also want to respect as much as possible the work that the House did on the Clarity Act because they had a strong bipartisan vote and we don’t want to disrupt that too much,” Loomis said.
