Informal Systems Announces Malachite Acquisition by Circle to Power New Arc Blockchain Network

最新报道：Circle has acquired Informal Systems' high-performance BFT consensus engine Malachite to power its new stablecoin-focused Layer-1 blockchain Arc1, launching in testnet later this year. Malachite implements Tendermint algorithm with modular design for correctness and efficiency. The open-source engine will enhance performance and security for stablecoin payments while remaining Apache 2.0 licensed. Informal Systems CEO Ethan Buchman called the acquisition a validation of their incubation model, with several team members joining Circle to develop Arc1 while Informal continues supporting other Malachite use cases. The deal aligns with Informal's strategy of spinning out incubated projects like Malachite, Cycles, Hydro and Quint.
