The Uniswap Foundation recently proposed adopting this structure, naming the entity "DUNI," to enable off-chain enforcement of on-chain governance decisions without centralized control. Unlike traditional corporations, DUNAs limit personal liability for participants and legally bind token holder votes, though they restrict profit-maximization—aligning with crypto's original ethos of value creation over extraction. If successful, this model could redefine decentralized governance, offering a compliant path for blockchain networks to operate as public infrastructure rather than proprietary entities.
