最新报道:According to a US government project presentation obtained by foreign media, the Trump administration's flagship "Golden Dome" missile defense system will consist of four layers—one space-based layer and three land-based layers—with plans to deploy 11 short-range missile batteries across the continental United States, Alaska, and Hawaii. The presentation, presented to 3,000 defense contractors in Huntsville, Alabama, last week, reveals the system's challenging 2028 completion deadline, set by President Trump himself, and its unprecedented complexity. The project draws inspiration from the Israeli Iron Dome system, but its scale and complexity far exceed the prototype given the vast territory it needs to protect and the diverse threats it faces. The presentation shows the system comprised of four integrated layers: 1) a space-based sensing and targeting layer with missile warning, tracking, and interception capabilities; 2) three land-based defense layers consisting of interceptor missiles, radar arrays, and potentially laser weapons. Notably, a map in the presentation shows plans for a large new missile base in the Midwest to house Lockheed Martin's (LMT.N) Next Generation Interceptor (NGI) missile. The interceptor missile will form a "high-altitude defense layer" together with the THAAD system, which is also produced by Lockheed.
