最新报道:According to Bijie.com, JD.com, China's second-largest e-commerce company with over $150 billion in annual revenue, has quietly posted a job opening for a DeFi expert. The retail giant is seeking talent proficient in decentralized exchanges (DEXs), lending, derivatives, and token economics. This move comes as Hong Kong's stablecoin licensing regime officially takes effect on August 1st. The new regulations provide a compliant path for large companies to issue digital currencies pegged to fiat currencies. Leveraging PayFi for Supply Chain Finance Beyond stablecoins, JD.com's job description hints at a broader vision: PayFi, or Payment Finance. This model uses smart contracts to combine payments with programmable financial services. In practice, suppliers can receive an on-chain accounts receivable token immediately after JD.com confirms delivery. This token can be staked in DeFi for instant liquidity or split into smaller units. It can also be used directly to pay upstream suppliers. JD.com can tokenize real-world assets such as accounts receivable, warehouse receipts, and logistics orders, unlocking the enormous value within its trillion-dollar supply chain. JD.com's approach contrasts with other Chinese tech giants. While competitors like Ant Group focus on compliance tools and Tencent maintains a policy-safe approach, JD.com is taking a two-pronged approach. Domestically, its Zhizhen Chain continues to serve regulated industrial blockchain applications, such as anti-counterfeiting and e-CNY integration. Overseas, JD.com aims to become a direct Web3 participant—issuing stablecoins, building a DeFi ecosystem, and exploring tokenized finance. This balance between domestic compliance and overseas innovation may give JD.com a unique competitive advantage. From e-commerce giant to on-chain economy JD.com's foray into DeFi reflects the growing convergence between Web2 and Web3 companies. The e-commerce giant is leveraging its scale and capital to integrate blockchain finance into its business operations. Regulatory hurdles and user adoption remain significant challenges, but if successfully executed, JD.com's dual-track strategy could provide a competitive advantage.
