最新报道:According to Bijie.com, a new cryptocurrency scam is emerging: thousands of fake TikTok clones are infecting their users with malware. These apps use fake profiles and AI-generated content, while stealing users' seed phrases, appearing legitimate on the surface. A cybersecurity firm has documented at least 15,000 imitation websites with similar domain names, but the extent of the campaign is unclear. Hackers are using the recently developed SparkKitty malware. TikTok clones are defrauding cryptocurrency users. Social media has long been a common tactic for cryptocurrency scams, and new attack methods are now affecting TikTok. In previous years, deepfake parody videos and fake meme coins were the most egregious criminal activity on the platform. However, new reports now suggest that the technology is becoming increasingly insidious. In a campaign dubbed "FraudonTok" by cybersecurity firm CTM360, websites are using TikTok's brand to promote malware scams. The lure for these operations comes from sponsored ads on the real platform and other social media apps. From there, users are directed to download new TikTok-branded apps. Superficially, these scam apps operate exactly like TikTok itself. Criminals even use fake profiles, ads, and AI-generated deepfakes to maintain a realistic experience. However, the purpose of these apps is to run phishing campaigns and steal wallet information. CTM360 has discovered approximately 15,000 such fake platforms. The precise details of the sophisticated malware operations reveal valuable information about the criminals' capabilities. Specifically, these fake TikTok clients use SparkKitty, a scam malware first created in the past three months. SparkKitty is an upgraded form of an earlier malware protocol, indicating that these criminals are using state-of-the-art software tools. On the fake TikTok app, SparkKitty works the same way as other recent scams. It accesses and scans the phone, looking for any possible victim's seed phrase or other compromising information, and then points the phone to the criminals. The hackers can then act at their discretion, passively collecting data before carrying out the actual theft. However, standard cybersecurity measures still apply and should protect users. If you're already a TikTok user, any new app bearing its branding is likely a scam. Under no circumstances should you save your seed phrase on your phone. Be cautious with your personal information, and you'll stay safe.
