最新报道:KakaoBank, South Korea's digital-only bank, announced plans to enter the stablecoin market during its H1 2025 earnings call. CFO Kwon Tae-hoon revealed the bank is exploring digital asset issuance and custody services in collaboration with Kakao Group's stablecoin task force. Kwon emphasized the bank's three-year experience in crypto risk management through real-name account issuance for exchanges and KYC/AML monitoring. The move aligns with President Lee Jae Myung's push for KRW-based stablecoins to prevent capital flight. KakaoPay, its sister company, previously filed stablecoin trademark applications in June. KakaoBank reported 11% operating profit growth to $254 million and 19% deposit increase to $45.8 billion in H1 2025, reaching 25.86 million users.
