最新报道:MEXC Ventures, the investment arm of cryptocurrency exchange MEXC, has invested an undisclosed amount in Triv, one of Indonesia's oldest but lesser-known cryptocurrency exchanges, at a valuation of $200 million, as part of its Southeast Asian expansion strategy. Founded in 2015, Triv claims to have over 3 million registered users and holds licenses for spot trading, staking, and futures. The platform states that it is "fully regulated" by Indonesia's Financial Services Authority (OJK) and the Commodity Futures Trading Regulatory Authority (BAPPEBTI). Triv operates in a highly competitive market, with other licensed players including Binance-owned Tokocrypto, Pantera-backed Pintu, and Indodax. In June of this year, Hong Kong-based OSL Group also entered the Indonesian market by acquiring local exchange operator Evergreen Crest Holdings for $15 million. Triv has not previously disclosed any institutional funding, and it is unclear whether the MEXC deal marks its first external funding round. MEXC declined to comment to The Block on the investment amount or Triv’s funding history. Leo Zhao, investment director at MEXC Ventures, said in a statement: “Indonesia is one of the most dynamic and promising digital asset markets in the [Southeast Asia] region.” “Triv has earned a strong reputation for compliance, security, and user trust.” Triv founder and CEO Gabriel Rey said the MEXC partnership will help expand token offerings, boost liquidity, and support Triv's local cryptocurrency media arm, CryptoWave Media. The investment comes just days after Indonesia implemented new cryptocurrency tax rules on August 1st. Under the new framework, cryptocurrency sellers using domestic cryptocurrency exchanges will face a 0.21% tax on transaction value, double the previous 0.1% rate. Foreign exchange users face even higher costs, with the seller tax jumping from 0.2% to 1%—a fivefold increase. Value-added tax, or VAT, has been eliminated on cryptocurrency purchases, but mining operations are now subject to a higher 2.2% VAT. The 0.1% special income tax on mining will be phased out by 2026, with mining income instead taxed at the standard personal or corporate rate. In Indonesia, cryptocurrency can be legally traded as an investment asset but not for payment. Last year, total cryptocurrency trading volume in Indonesia more than tripled to 650 trillion rupiah (approximately 400 billion U.S. dollars). $600 million). Local cryptocurrency exchanges have over 20 million users, exceeding the total number of investors in the country's stock market.
