Maxwell, serving a 20-year sentence for sex trafficking, was moved to FMC Carswell, a medical center for female inmates. The Bureau of Prisons did not disclose the reason for the transfer. Epstein, who died by suicide in 2019 while awaiting trial, was accused of running a sex trafficking ring involving underage girls. Maxwell's relocation follows recent scrutiny of her prison conditions and legal efforts to appeal her conviction.
