最新报道:According to experts, a significant portion of the Bitcoin (BTC) supply, nearly 33%, is highly vulnerable to potential quantum computing attacks. Notably, the primary cause is the widespread practice of address reuse. This revelation comes amid growing concern about Bitcoin's lack of post-quantum cryptography, which could expose the cryptocurrency to quantum computing threats. Quantum Computing and Bitcoin: How Address Reuse Increases Vulnerability. At the Quantum Bitcoin Summit hosted by Presidio Bitcoin, Dr. Anthony Milton explained that 6.51 million Bitcoins (approximately 32.7% of the total supply) are immediately vulnerable to quantum attacks. Of this, 70% of the vulnerability is due to address reuse. Address reuse exposes a total of 4.5 million Bitcoins to quantum risk. Furthermore, his analysis shows that less than 20% of addresses are reused. However, these addresses hold approximately 6% of all UTXOs (unspent transaction outputs). A UTXO is a portion of a Bitcoin transaction that has not yet been spent by a user. It essentially represents the amount of Bitcoin remaining after a transaction is completed, making it available for future transactions. Milton also evaluated the top 1,000 Bitcoin addresses, which hold approximately 6.08 million Bitcoins (30% of the total Bitcoin supply). He concluded that many of these addresses are being reused, which only increases quantum vulnerability. Despite the risks, Anthony noted that many reused addresses frequently undergo transactions, meaning these coins can still be spent. Furthermore, only a small fraction of these reused addresses have not undergone transactions in over 10 years. Other experts have also emphasized that while quantum computing poses a long-term threat to Bitcoin, it is not an immediate concern. Why? Quantum computers are currently unable to perform tasks such as mining or undermine Bitcoin's cryptographic security. Therefore, while quantum computing remains a major concern, it is important to note that address reuse is not a cryptographic flaw in Bitcoin itself, but rather a result of user behavior. The good news is that this problem is solvable. Users can use new addresses for each transaction, enable address rotation, consider multi-signature wallets, and stay updated on protocol updates to improve quantum resistance.
