Over $630M in ETH was withdrawn from Aave, spiking borrowing rates and disrupting leveraged stETH strategies, forcing repayments. Validator exits accelerated as deleveragers redeemed stETH/LRTs, widening stETH's discount and attracting arbitrageurs, creating a reflexive loop. EigenLayer's restaking reopening also contributed, with $940M inflows on July 21. The congestion is expected to ease as Aave rates stabilize.
