最新报道:A UK National Crime Agency (NCA) officer, Paul Chowles, has been sentenced to 5.5 years in prison for stealing 50 Bitcoin (now worth £4.4 million) from a drug trafficker during a 2013 investigation. The 42-year-old transferred the cryptocurrency via the dark web to personal accounts, later spending £144,580 before his 2022 arrest. Merseyside Police uncovered Chowles' scheme to split and conceal the Bitcoin across multiple accounts, aided by notebooks containing login details. The CPS noted the stolen Bitcoin's value surged post-theft. Det Ch Insp John Black condemned Chowles for exploiting his law enforcement role to commit the crimes he was meant to prevent.
