Wooricard applies for trademark for Korean won stablecoin

最新报道：According to the CoinWorld report, Woori Card applied for multiple stablecoin-related trademarks, including "WCKRW", "WCWON", and "WONWC", to the Korean Intellectual Property Office on July 10, 2025. This makes it the third credit card company to enter the stablecoin field, following Shinhan Card and Korea National Card. In this application, the products designated by Woori Card include downloadable software for stablecoins. The potential application of stablecoins as a means of payment is being widely discussed, and the credit card industry has shown great interest in this. It is worth noting that Woori Bank, a subsidiary of Woori Financial Group, has applied for multiple stablecoin trademarks on July 7, showing the active layout of the five major financial holding companies in the stablecoin market.
