The new D455 model features improved depth accuracy up to 10 meters, enhanced low-light performance, and onboard AI processing capabilities through Intel's OpenVINO toolkit. "These cameras will enable robots to better understand and navigate complex environments," said Intel's VP of Emerging Growth, highlighting applications in warehouse automation, retail analytics, and industrial inspection. The system integrates with major robotics platforms including ROS 2 and NVIDIA Isaac, with pricing starting at $299 for volume purchases. Shipments begin Q3 2025.
