最新报道:According to the Coinnet news, American rapper and record producer Snoop Dogg launched the first celebrity digital gift on Telegram on Wednesday, selling nearly 1 million collectibles in just 30 minutes, netting $12 million, according to CEO Pavel Durov. "SnoopDogg's digital collectibles on Telegram sold out in just 30 minutes today, with sales of $12 million," Durov wrote on his official Telegram channel. "Nearly 1 million unique NFTs, inspired by Snoop's iconic style, sold out in record time." The collectibles initially appeared to be sold and registered within Telegram and minted through the TON blockchain in late July. "Blockchain minting and secondary markets will be online in 21 days. It will be crazy," Durov added. Entertainment and celebrity news media TMZ was the first to report the news. Telegram and the TON blockchain are closely related, with TON originally being developed by Telegram's team, but due to legal pressure the project was handed over to an open-source community. Nonetheless, TON is now the underlying blockchain that powers Telegram's on-chain features, including collectibles, web3 usernames, and payment services for its claimed 1 billion users. Ahead of the sale, Snoop Dogg posted on his own official Telegram channel, "@durov time to drop it like it's hot," referencing one of his most famous lyrics. He even released a short "Gifts" music video to celebrate the launch via his official YouTube channel. The sale includes classic cars, swag bags, digital dogs, and marijuana-themed collectibles. However, this isn't Snoop's first foray into NFTs and cryptocurrencies, as he has been a prominent figure in the space for more than a decade, accepting Bitcoin for album purchases as early as 2013. He has amassed a $17 million NFT collection under the pseudonym "Cozomo de' Medici," becoming a well-known collector of digital art. He also launched “Snoopverse” within The Sandbox metaverse, released “The Doggies” NFT collection, and even performed with Eminem as their Bored Ape avatars at the 2022 MTV Video Music Awards.Snoop’s recent sales are somewhat of an outlier in the NFT market, which has suffered huge losses since its 2021 heyday, failing to recover as strongly from the 2022 bear market as the rest of the cryptocurrency space.
