最新报道:Turkish regulators may soon crack down on other DeFi services and wallets following the recent ban on PancakeSwap. Turkey’s recent ban on the PancakeSwap (CAKE) decentralized exchange has raised concerns that other DeFi services may also be affected. A recent panel discussion held by the regulator during Istanbul Blockchain Week suggests that this may be the case. In a transcript shared with crypto.news, the regulator outlined new enforcement standards that will also apply to DeFi services. Under the new framework, DEXs and even non-custodial wallets will be required to follow the same rules as centralized services. This does not mean that all such services will be banned, though. Ali İhsan Güngör, executive vice chairman of Turkey’s Capital Markets Board, said the regulations follow the so-called dissemination principle. Specifically, those marketing their DeFi products to Turkish citizens will have to comply with local regulations. “It is entirely possible for Turkish citizens to voluntarily accept services from other institutions abroad, as capital flows are already free,” Güngör explained. “However, if institutions or entities offering DeFi services direct their activities to Turkey through extensive promotion, advertising or marketing, then they will be subject to our regulations.” “We have already started to impose access restrictions on such websites,” Güngör added. The chief regulator is likely referring to the recent ban on PancakeSwap, along with 46 other websites, which took place on July 4. The regulator ordered internet service providers to block PancakeSwap’s domain in the country and banned related mobile applications and associated social media accounts. The regulator did not specify which channels PancakeSwap used to specifically target Turkish users, though. PancakeSwap is a decentralized protocol that does not have any registered branches or legal entities in Turkey. As a result, it was difficult for the exchange to apply for the required crypto service provider license in the country.
