最新报道:Hong Kong's cryptocurrency-related stocks surged on Tuesday as investors were optimistic about the territory's upcoming stablecoin licensing framework. Shares of Guotai Junan International, a Chinese brokerage listed in Hong Kong, rose 16% as of noon (markets were still open), according to Yahoo Finance. The securities firm received regulatory approval to offer cryptocurrency trading services in Hong Kong last week. Shares of OSL, a licensed cryptocurrency exchange in Hong Kong, rose 12.2% as of noon Tuesday, while shares of Dmall Inc. rose 8.9%. Victory Securities' stock also rose 9.2%. OSL is one of the cryptocurrency trading platforms that has received permission from local regulators to provide retail services. The company announced plans last month to acquire Canada-based Banxa Exchange for C$85.2 million ($62.4 million). Chinese retail digitization company Dmall said last week that it was preparing to apply for a stablecoin license in Hong Kong and had begun buying Bitcoin through HashKey Exchange. Meanwhile, Chinese brokerage Victory Securities received regulatory approval to offer cryptocurrency trading services in April. The investor enthusiasm comes as Hong Kong prepares to implement its stablecoin licensing regime on August 1. The upcoming framework stipulates that issuers of fiat-referenced stablecoins must obtain a license from the Hong Kong Monetary Authority. Financial Secretary Paul Chan said in an interview with local newspaper Ming Pao published on Monday that Hong Kong may issue stablecoin licenses this year, but the number will probably remain "in the single digits." The excitement about stablecoins also builds on a speech by Chinese central bank governor Pan Gongsheng in June. The governor of the People's Bank of China acknowledged that stablecoins and central bank digital currencies are reshaping global payment infrastructure. While Hong Kong's upcoming licensing regime and early sandbox program were initially designed for stablecoins pegged to the Hong Kong dollar, the prospect of offshore yuan-pegged stablecoins has become a hot topic locally. As global stablecoin competition intensifies, Chinese tech giants JD.com and Ant Group are lobbying the People's Bank of China to approve offshore yuan stablecoins, according to Reuters.
